San Joaquin Valley Veterans (SJVV) - Stockton

San Joaquin Valley Veterans (SJVV) is a unique project of WestCare California, Inc. that serves Veterans in Fresno, Madera, Merced, Kings, San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Visalia Counties. The program collaborates with the State of California and local Veterans Affairs (VA) branches to close service gaps. WestCare currently offers services to transitioning Veterans. The program offers services at a single, welcoming location where Veterans can meet with Veteran service representatives from a variety of agencies.

Scope & Services

SJVV provides local Veterans with case management, counseling services, Veteran advocacy, housing assistance, employment assistance, and financial assistance for employment-related education. The program purchases work supplies, helps Veterans attend workshops and refers for benefits, transitional living, mental health and SUD treatment. Ancillary assistance is provided with meals, clothing and transportation. SJVV also provides an easily accessible space for Veterans to meet with service representatives, a drop-in area, a computer lab for job searching and a space for Veterans to assemble and hold support groups. Meeting space is available as well as art therapy sessions. SJVV works with all Veterans including members of the U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard. SJVV serves those who received honorable discharges and anyone who served a day or more in the armed forces. SJVV is a place where Veterans are honored, respected and empowered to change their lives one simple step at a time. SJVV works with Veterans as well as their families.
