At WestCare California, we follow the Housing First approach—because we believe that safe, stable housing is the first step toward long-term healing and independence.

Our Housing Services & Supports are designed to meet people where they are, offering:

Permanent Supportive Housing for individuals and families with ongoing needs
Housing Navigation to help clients find, secure, and maintain stable housing
Disability Advocacy to ensure access to the benefits and services clients are entitled to
Diversion Services to help those at risk of homelessness find immediate, safe alternatives
Housing Support Services like case management, life skills, and connection to care

Scope & Services

Using the Housing First model, Opening Doors to Housing and Wellness establishes relationships with community partners to provide: (1) Linkage to behavioral health and other recovery-oriented services, (2) Coordination of housing and services that enhance the long-term sustainability of integrated community systems providing permanent housing and supportive services to the target populations and (3) Outreach, engagement and connection of clients who experience SUDs or CODs to enrollment resources for health insurance, Medi-Cal and other mainstream benefit programs. By assisting clients from their initial entry to their continued residence in permanent housing, Opening Doors to Housing and Wellness expands the community infrastructure to provide permanent housing and treatment for underlying substance abuse and mental health disorders.
