WestCare California, Inc.’s Veterans Plaza VA Grant Per Diem (GPD) program provides safe and supportive gender-responsive housing services to male Veterans experiencing homelessness. The program helps them achieve housing stability, increase their skill levels and income, and become self-sufficient as they prepare to transition to permanent housing.

Scope & Services
Services provided at Veteran’s Plaza include supportive housing for up to 24 months, comprehensive assessment, case management, life skills, crisis intervention, counseling and linkages to the VA and other community support services. The VA and other community support services are essential in
addressing the multifaceted needs of male Veterans. These needs include valuable military training that is not immediately transferable to civilian jobs, physical disabilities, stress-related illness, mental health and SUD and loss of social and family ties. Veterans with income pay a portion of their rent, never to exceed 30% of monthly income.
